Salty Critter - Shipping Information

Free ground shipping within the continental 48 states on many dry goods orders over 250.00, some restrictions apply.
Excludes heavy and oversized items such as salt, large liquid supplements, and 4' and longer bulbs and light fixtures for example. For orders containing these items shipping will be discounted by the standard 14.95 shipping costs. Cannot be combined with some specials, sales, or coupons if noted.

Note on Free Shipping and the shopping cart

Our shopping cart cannot calculate free shipping so it will add it during checkout. The shopping cart does NOT automatically charge your card, when we process your order we will deduct or adjust shipping charges. Eligible paypal orders will have the applicable shipping refunded.

Most orders will be shipped out within 1 to 2 business days via UPS ground or USPS, though when possible we do try to ship same day as the order is placed. International orders and Alaska and Hawaii are sent USPS Priority Mail, costs of which we will calculate and contact you if higher than the standard cart charges. If another shipping method is desired please contact us when placing order and we with coordinate with you. Once we have processed your order will also provide you with a tracking number for it if sent by UPS. This will be sent in an email that comes from UPS not Salty Critter.

Shipping costs in the table below are for domestic orders shipped within the continental 48 United States.
For items to be shipped outside this area including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and any foreign county additional shipping charges may apply to account for actual shipping cost if needed. For these orders we will contact the customer for approval before charging and shipping.

Frozen Food Orders

Shipping costs for frozen foods will be calculated at the time the order is processed by us. The shopping cart currently is unable to calculated the need overnight shipping that frozen food requires. Overnight shipping costs for most frozen food orders run approx $40.00 - 65.00. For those in Ohio and surrounding states that UPS ground is usually one day transit time that is an option as well at a much lower cost.
*** NOTE ***
Frozen food orders with under $50.00 of food will have a $5.00 handling charge added to cover the cost of the styrofoam cooler and ice packs nessessary to keep food frozen/cold.

Heavy and Oversized Items

The shopping cart used on this site cannot account for the extra shipping costs that come from heavy or what shippers deem oversized packages. Some heavy or oversized items require additional shipping to be added when order is processed to cover actual shipping costs. When this is the case it is listed in the item description or below the Add to Cart buttons on the page. When we recieve the order we calculate the shipping costs and will notify you of the difference before charging the card for the order. When ordering heavy items via paypal please call or email for a total first and if the customer would like to proceed we will send send you a request via paypal for the total due.

Fluorescent bulb shipping policy

With each bulb order a box must be purchased to ship the bulbs in at a cost of 5.00. You can add the box to your cart by clicking the Add to Cart button below or on the page the bulbs purchased are listed on..

Livestock Shipping

Livestock requires overnight shipping, costs of which are based on weight and destination
which the shopping cart cannot account for and will be calculated and billed at time of shipment.

Returns

When you receive your shipment from us please overlook the items to assure you have recieved the correct models and number of items ordered before opening your packages as well as any broken items. If you have received an incorrect item or quantity by error of Salty Critter or if any item is damaged please call or email us for a prompt resolution.

If you have ordered and received an item and wish to return it you may within 30 days from receipt as long as the orginal packaging and/or seal has not been opened or broken for store credit, exchange, or refund. Items returned for refund by customer are subject to a 10% restocking fee of price of the item. Items returned for exchange or store credit will NOT be charged a restocking fee. In all cases shipping charges will not be refunded or credited and item(s) must be safely packed and shipped back at customers expense to Salty Critter at which time credit will be given upon arrival and inspection. If a customer chooses to return an item that was not damaged or sent by the mistake of Salty Critter and was purchased using free shipping promotion, the shipping costs that would normally apply will also be deducted from the refund.
